LANDSCHAFT is the exhibition of Victor Kudin's paintings and graphic works. The opening will take place on 22/11/2018 at 7 p.m. at the National Taras Shevchenko Museum in Kyiv, Ukraine along with the presentation of the art-catalogue dedicated to this project.
The LANDSCHAFT project was conceived in Germany, as well as by the incredible Liubych river of Chernihiv oblast.
"In the early 90's I worked at a German architectural bureau, and when Saturday came, despite the different degrees of winter weather foulness I went out to paint, which brought great joy to me after a week of sitting at the bureau.
In my later work, the taste of German winter remained in my landscapes of the Liubych river. It is beautiful across all seasons, but closer to me are its winter minimalism, its modest colours, and its silence.
Around the same period of time I started experimenting with Chinese ink on canvas, as a philosophical understanding of black-and-white winter as a metaphor for our black-and-white life. These two themes merged into a single sense of landscape, into a single "inner garden" - says the artist.
