This school and kindergarten is the first of six educational facilities planned for the new residential district. The site is located adjacent to a large recreational green area. The main design concept is based on creating a close relationship between architecture and nature, allowing children to experience and engage with the surrounding landscape in their everyday learning environment.
The site features a steep topography, which became an integral part of the architectural concept. Rather than reshaping the terrain, the project incorporates it into the building's spatial organization. One of the school volumes spans across the slope, cantilevering over the lower level of the site to create a covered outdoor play area. The natural topography is also utilized to form the stepped seating of the sports field and the terraced structure of the kindergarten.
The central element of the school's interior is a spacious atrium, around which most classrooms are organized. Beyond serving as a circulation and recreation space, the atrium functions as an assembly hall and a flexible venue for informal learning, school events, and community activities.
The planning concept integrates the school and kindergarten into a single functional system, allowing several shared facilities to be used by both institutions. These include the kitchen and dining facilities, as well as the sports hall, ensuring efficient use of space and resources.
The classrooms and educational spaces have been designed in accordance with the principles of Ukraine's New Ukrainian School educational reform. The project also provides a fully inclusive learning environment with barrier-free access to all areas of the building.
