The interpretation of the city archive as a public building was the key idea of the design. In addition to the public access to the center’s interior space (conference hall, exhibition hall, cafe, co-working), the project also intends its visitors to use the green roof as a cinema, having the repository wall as a screen. In our design proposal, part of the archive goes underground to split the visitor area and the archive maintenance zone. This solution provides a possibility to develop an outdoor skate park surrounding the building, which complements the archive as a partially public area. The project has been awarded 1st prize in a national competition.
